OpenVPN setup in 2 minutes

Want a VPN you can setup in less than two minutes?

I can not take any credit for finding this great VPN installer. I was watching a recent episode of Hak5 and was very excited to see this VPN setup script. If you have never watched Hak5, I highly recommend it. I have been watching since Season 2 and have learned a lot from Darren and Shannon.

The script can be fount at https://github.com/Nyr/openvpn-install and can be run by simply copying this script into your Linux machine.

wget https://git.io/vpn -O openvpn-install.sh && bash openvpn-install.sh

After that, follow the on screen prompts and you will be up and running in minutes. Once done, you will find a file called client.ovpn which can be imported into your OpenVPN Client.

I prefer to use DigitalOcean for my Linux servers, they are, in my opinion, the best! It takes less than 55 seconds to spin up a DigitalOcean droplet and about one minute to run this script. I don't think you can make it much more simple than that. I am using the official OpenVPN Connect Android app.
After downloading the client.ovpn to your phones SD card, simply choose Import and then choose Import from SD card. Now you should be up and running! If you have any issues, feel free to email me or refer to the Hak5 video.

Caution: Running any script as root can be harmful.

Keep in mind that running any script as "root" is dangerous. You are putting a lot of trust in the person that created the script. Feel free to examine the script before using and/or test it on a non-production machine, such as a DigitalOcean droplet.
